I've been a busy little bee lately. Trying to get some stuff done to the house and such...it's time consuming! Lots of cleaning. Lots of painting. Lots of complete overhauls. But, it's coming along nicely and I am very happy with our progress and the time I have to spend with amazing people in my life.
Talking to a friend of mine today, we came across the thought: If people would mind their business, and take care of what is going on in their life..they wouldn't have to think of ways to keep people in their life happy! What happens when we lose people? What is some of the first things that come into our mind?
..I should have... I wish I would have... I should have told them...
Why do we wait until time is GONE to make our decisions to actively love someone? I'm not talking just hugs and kisses and "I love you"s. I'm talking about a conscious effort to live and breathe love for someone. I'm not talking about going all "it rubs the lotion on the skin"... I'm talking about maintaining a constant line of communication with that person; the key being... Positive Reinforcement. I capitalized those two words because I wanted emphasis on them.
Remember when I asked you to keep a log of positive days and negative days? ...It's been a few weeks. What did you come up with? How many times did you actually let someone know that you had a wonderful day, just because you were able to live it?
Sometimes, the ones we love get just as much gratification of knowing that we are happy; as we do, actually BEING happy! It's a matter of communication. Just taking the time to tell that person a random thought. You know, it may not register to them for a while.. but it means a lot to know that you just took a moment to acknowledge them.
Don't Stop! What does it take, two seconds to write a sappy love note and leave it so they will find it? How many times do you go into a convienience store?.. Do you get you something? .. Do you get them something because you just thought about it? A friend of mine, one time called these little things: Sprinkles. The things in life that you don't have to have... but they just make life that much sweeter when you do. I want to be a sprinkle magnet. How 'bout you? I like sprinkles.
Sprinkles are gooooood.
