Blog Challenge: Day 11

Day 11: A story about a past relationship.

Well, I have thought about this topic since I first read the Blog Challenge. I was trying to think of which story I wanted to tell; and I was completely lost for a while. I couldn't make up my mind. I'm still a bit lost, so as I'm writing this?.. my mind is still trying to concoct the perfect story.

With that said, let's just go with it!

Once upon a time, there was a girl. She was seven years younger than her closest sister, in age. So, she really didn't have a great relationship with her siblings. She was so much younger...she just didn't fit in with the teenage life. She had an awesome imagination and she kept herself busy with music, go-carts and family time. She was just a wee sapling at the time... she had friends, but no one to really be one on one with.
Until one glorious day, the girl became an Aunt (at the young age of 9). This amazing little life that was introduced to her became one of the greatest blessings to her. As time went on, and they both grew up, they became really close. She had finally found someone to do things with. To go places with. Her Nephew became her new best bud.
Years pass, time goes on, lives continue and people sometimes change to accommodate. But, one thing the girl knew was that she loved her nephew, dearly. There would be day after day when she wouldn't see him, or talk to him. She missed him. Luckily, the nephew was family oriented, and even though he grew older, he still felt the need to be close with family, and this made the girl very happy. You see, she looked at her nephew with so much pride, love and adoration.
To this day, they still share the random conversation or silly joke. But, they don't get to see each other as much as they did in the past. The girl misses him. But, she knows where to find him, and she knows that he is fine. The relationship they share is one in a million (or so she thinks). He knows that no matter what, she will always be there. And she knows the same.
They will continue to live, happily ever after.
The End.

Relationships are abundant in every aspect of life. Good, bad or ugly; they will continue to mark the paths of our life. We have a choice to make them worth it. To bring out the positive in every way possible. Blessings are sometimes disguised. The key to the reward is patience and faith that things will work out. Once you surrender, you will continue to reap defeat.
It's a choice....whether you believe it, or not.

Blog Challenge: Day 10

Day 10: Something/Someone you're proud of.

Well, let's see.. there's so much in my life that would fall into this category. How to narrow it down?

Let's just be full of entertainment today. I will say that I am proud of YOU! Why?... let's walk through this together, shall we?

I'm proud of the way you worked through that situation, instead of just making a rushed decision. Too many times, people rush into something without thinking. It takes self control and respect to be patient and weigh all of the options.

I'm proud of you for picking yourself up and moving on. I know that what has happened to you has been rough, and that you wish things would have turned out differently. But, I am so proud of the way you just bounced back and even though you hurt, you took the next step and continued on.

I'm proud of your dedication and service to our country. I can't tell you how much your life means to me. Thank you.

I'm proud of the way you have excelled as an athlete. Your talent and drive are so amazing to me. The self control that you have and the drive to keep your body maintained are so awesome. Keep it up!

I'm proud of your faith and Christian example. In a world like this, it is so easy to conform and to surrender to the wicked ways that are so abundant. You always remain strong and steadfast. I admire that.
I'm proud of the way you play your instrument. You've put in so many hours of practice and dedication. It has really paid off. I can tell you really enjoy what you do.

I'm so proud to call you friend, family, co-worker, child, love.... You've blessed me today and all the days before, just for knowing you. Life is exactly what we make it. Good or Bad. I never want you to wonder what you mean to me. I want you to know that all of your hard work and efforts do not go unnoticed.

I am SO PROUD of you.

There ain't no rest for the wicked

Money doesn't grow on trees. I got bills to pay, I got mouths to feed, there ain't nothing in this world for free. I know I can't slow down, I can't hold back though you know I wish I could, oh no there ain't no rest for the wicked, until we close our eyes for good.

Cage the Elephant sings a song about the wicked. It's a pretty thoughtful little ditty and a quite catchy tune. And, speaks truth, for real, yo!

Blog Challenge: Day 9

Day 9: Short term goals for this month and why.

Who is making this list!?

Ok.. So I guess it is good to have short term goals. Everyone needs a feeling of accomplishment. Positive reinforcement creates a domino effect of positive reactions. So.. for the Month of October 2011, here are my short term goals. And Why.

1- Make it to Nov 1, 2011 alive and well, with all appendages, bodily organs and systems attached and functioning properly.
Why? ... haaa! Why NOT!?

2- Lose ten pounds.
Why? I am on a mission to start living healthy. I keep putting it off, but I have to get it in gear. So, I want to kick start myself by losing some poundage and getting an exercise routine in place.

3- Practice patience with idiots.
Why? ..well, I don't know why. But someone needs to help these people.

4- Change the way I over-analyze things.
Why? If you have followed me, or if you know me; then you understand that one of my biggest flaws is the way I super over-analyze EVERYTHING. It is something I have been aware of for a long time, yet I can't seem to get it under control. Now seems like a perfect time to start. There's no time like the present.

So, here's to you! And Me. Let's get this party started! Woot!

Are you listening?

I keep thinking that people are worth a bit more than we give them credit for. Unfortunately, I am most often proven wrong.

Just for the record (and I know you're reading this): Stop. Just stop. I don't know how else to say it, but your incessant need to find things that you "think" will hurt me, is not working. I am very happy where I am in my life. I have the love of an amazing man and the support of a wonderful family and some JAM up friends. Ones that stand beside me, regardless of what I am going through, or what I've done.
I am very sorry that some people may never get to experience that kind of relationship with others (because their need to poke, prod and create drama overruns their "good" qualities).

Just for the record: so we can get this all clear and there are no grey areas:
I fell in love with a married man several months ago. **GASP!**

There are no other details that you really have to know. That's it. It's something that I didn't plan on doing. It's not something I set out to do. It just happened. Was it wrong? In context..Yes. Do I still think it was the wrong thing to do? No. I am where I am supposed to be. He is where he is supposed to be (which means we are together). Life is full of things that we can't control (one of which is the useless babble from third parties that have nothing better to do)...

One thing I've learned over the past few years is this: It doesn't matter! That's it. It DOESN'T MATTER what people outside of your circle of family and trusted friends do or say. And, the sad part is?.. the people who constantly do this are the exact ones who want to "pray" for you if you're in need. How about: Love your enemies. Do good to them that hurt you; and pray for them which spitefully use you and persecute you.

I am not perfect. I never will be. I am human, and I make mistakes. But it's nothing to you. I'm not calling what I've done a mistake; because it isn't. It's a road my life took me down and I am doing my best to make it to the other side.

Contrary to popular belief: Just because I fell in love with the man I'm with, doesn't mean I want yours too. Please keep them! I have my own. I find that the people that have the hardest time with the idea of "just friends" are the ones that can't keep that relationship separated in their minds.

I know that this blog is a bit personal, and it may be seen as erratic and ill-mannered. But it is what it is. I hate it when people (who are innocent) get pulled into useless drama and bull because of something someone thinks they should try and piece together.

If I am not mistaken, you have a pretty important job, don't you? Isn't that something that you should be more concerned with?

Blog Challenge: Day 8

Day 8: A picture of someone/something that has the biggest impact on you.

Boy! Have I been slacking! I just haven't had the time to sit and write. And, when I did have the time, I just didn't feel like writing. GASP! Fear not. I'm here... again.

Meet the single, most amazing thing in my life. You see that little party favor noise maker? I found it almost five years ago. It seems as if it was made just for me. It's perfect. Yes, it has some physical flaws, and it may not be the most perfect noise maker in the world, but it's absolutely perfect to me. ... and it has impacted me beyond description.

When I am at work, or away from it; I think about it all of the time. I miss it. It's like a part of me is gone. It also makes me laugh and sometimes, it makes me cry. It brings me joy like I've never known. I have so many memories in the short four and a half years we've shared.

It takes me as I am, and it thinks I am amazing. It doesn't always do what I want it to do... but that's a part of owning something so amazing.

Yep. My little noise maker. ....I don't know where I would be today, if I hadn't found it. It's almost like it was made to rescue me from myself. As if it came straight from God, Himself. It has changed my life.

I love you, little noise maker.

Blog Challenge: Day 7

Day 7: A hobby you have.

Hmmm... A hobby? Well, let's see.... Is watching movies a hobby?

I bake cakes for people on occasion, I love to read (but don't ever find the time anymore), I love to write and I enjoy singing (of the Karaoke persuasion). I collect shot glasses and bottle tops. Not so much shot glasses as much as I used to, they collect dust and that creates work for me. Bottle tops?.. Yes. If you have any, please feel free to send them my way. Doesn't matter what the flavor beverage it is. I want them. I am planning to do a table top with them and maybe a stool or two.

Other than that.. I love being with the people I love the most. I love spending time with my amazing boyfriend.. and I love being with my family!
